2. Highlights Along the Trail
- The Great 55-Meter Suspension Bridge: The star attraction of the hike. Spanning 55 meters across the canyon and hanging 15 meters above the rushing river, crossing this wooden bridge provides an adrenaline rush and unforgettable photographs.
- The Narrow Canyon Ledges (Cueva de las Palomas): Along the narrowest stretch of the gorge, the path consists of a 40cm stone ledge directly beside the rock face. - By Metropolitan Bus (Line 183): Catch bus 183 from Paseo del Salón in central Granada. Buses run every 30 minutes, taking 20 minutes to reach the village of Monachil (1.55 € ticket). From the village center, follow the well-marked river trail upstream.
- By Car: Drive south on the Ronda Sur (A-395), take the exit for Monachil, and park at either Aparcamiento Los Cahorros (Punto de Información) or near the El Puntal trailhead.
