Spanning over 70,000 square meters, the Parque de las Ciencias (Science Park) of Granada is the most visited museum in Andalusia and one of the premier interactive science centers in Southern Europe. If you are traveling with kids, or need a fascinating cultural diversion from Moorish palaces, this world-class institution is a must-visit.

With its state-of-the-art BioDomo ↗ (a living tropical rainforest immersion), digital Planetarium, Bird of Prey Flight Pavilion, and hands-on physics and human biology galleries, planning a 3 to 4-hour visit requires clear logistical insight.

1. Key Highlights You Cannot Miss

  • The BioDomo: The crown jewel of the park. A climate-controlled living pavilion recreating the biodiversity of the Earth’s tropical belt (Madagascar, the Amazon, and the Indo-Pacific). Walk among freely roaming lemurs, toucans, armadillos, sloths, and look underwater into massive coral reef aquariums teeming with blacktip reef sharks.
  • The Digital Planetarium: Equipped with an 8K full-dome projection system, taking audiences on hyper-realistic voyages across galaxies, black holes, and the constellations over Sierra Nevada.
  • Observation Tower (Torre de Observación): A 50-meter-tall glass-and-steel tower offering panoramic 360-degree views of Granada, the Alhambra hill, and the snow-covered peaks of Sierra Nevada.
  • Tropical Butterfly Garden (Mariposario Tropical): Step inside a humid tropical greenhouse featuring thousands of exotic butterflies fluttering around lush flowering orchids and waterfalls.
  • Raptor Flight Demonstrations: Educational daily workshops showcasing eagles, owls, and falcons in free outdoor flight.
