Located immediately adjacent to the Nasrid Palaces, El Partal (from the Arabic al-Burtāl, ‘The Portico’) is one of the most serene and photogenic areas of the entire Alhambra complex. It preserves the remnants of the earliest palace built by Sultan Muhammad III at the beginning of the 14th century.

1. Portico of the Ladies (Torre de las Damas)
The iconic five-arched colonnade portico reflected into the mirror surface of an immense rectangular stone pool. Inside the tower chamber, look up at the exquisitely preserved painted wooden alfarje ceiling and plaster friezes.
2. Terraced Gardens and Fortress Towers
Stroll through cascading rose and cypress terraces past historic fortress towers: the Torre del Mihrab (containing an authentic miniature mosque prayer niche) and the Torre de los Picos.
