The Poqueira Gorge Circular Hiking Route (PR-A 70)
Pampaneira is the starting point for one of Spain’s most iconic day hikes. The Sendero del Barranco de Poqueira (approx. 10 km circular, 4 hours) links the three white villages of the gorge:
- Climb uphill from Pampaneira through terraced orchards to Bubión (1,300 m).
- Continue along the mountain crest to Capileira (1,436 m), taking in sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada snow caps.
- Descend via the ancient stone bridge of Puente de Chiscar along the riverbank back down to Pampaneira.
