Spreading downhill from the southern gardens of the Alhambra to the riverbanks of the Genil, El Realejo is Granada’s historic Jewish quarter (originally known during the Muslim era as Garnata al-Yahud). Realejo is celebrated for having some of Granada’s most innovative culinary scenes. From traditional fried fish taverns to modern vermouth bars along Calle Santa Escolástica and Calle Molinos, it offers a quieter, more authentic alternative to tourist-heavy downtown streets.
